As Program Chair for the ATA 2014 – 19th Annual International Meeting & Trade Show, I am excited to share with you some of the highlights at this year’s Annual Meeting.

For 19 years, the ATA Annual Meeting has been the premier forum for educational updates, making purchasing decisions and establishing collegial relationships in telemedicine, telehealth and mHealth technology.  Our meeting provides an opportunity for over 6,000 key stakeholder attendees from healthcare delivery institutions; technology innovators; government agencies; and private sector purchasers and payers to come together to advance this increasingly important field. ATA 2014 will feature presentations that address the full spectrum from strategic assessment and planning; research and development; theory and application; and methodology and evaluation.

We are especially excited about our new “Innovation Spotlight”, which will feature noteworthy start-up companies.  We will also feature the X-Prize finalists and the e-Poster Lightening Rounds.  I think you will derive great value from The Sunday Venture Capital Summit, which has an amazing line-up of speakers and participants. The ATA Industry Council Executive Sessions will feature corporate leaders in an interview format with editors from our new partners, MedCityNews.com.

ATA’s 2014 educational program will feature 500 presentations including training courses, best practices, late-breaking research outcomes and updates on issues vital to the practice and industry of telemedicine. The sessions will be organized into 13 tracks including: Business Strategies;  Patient-Focused Care;  Operational Tools;  Clinical Case Studies; Chronic Disease Management; Critical and Acute Care; Legal & Regulatory; Mental Health; Pediatrics; Federal Programs; Executive Roundtables and; ePoster Lightening Rounds.  Mobile and wireless health will be a focus of many presentations as well as remote monitoring, research and evaluation, technology, and public policy changes.  As always, continuing education credits will be offered.

The trade show is even larger than last year and will feature over 200 of the leading vendors in remote healthcare technologies. Whether you’re looking for hardware, software, IT infrastructure or clinical service solutions, this trade show has something for you.
